After initially completing an 8000-hour apprenticeship in machining and toolmaking, James worked as a fitter and turner building machines which produce steel framing for housing and modular construction. This provided an excellent understanding of engineering materials and hands-on experience.
Shortly thereafter James became interested in structural engineering and attended Unitec NZ and the University of Auckland earning a Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
Since then James has accumulated extensive experience in the structural design of residential and low-rise commercial buildings, including seismic assessments and construction monitoring. Get in contact to find out how Northside Structural can assist with your project.
