About

After initially completing an 8000-hour apprenticeship in machining and toolmaking, James worked as a fitter and turner building machines which produce steel framing for housing and modular construction. This provided an excellent understanding of engineering materials and hands-on experience.

Shortly thereafter James became interested in structural engineering and attended Unitec NZ and the University of Auckland earning a Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).

Since then, James has gained extensive experience in the structural design of residential buildings and retaining walls, as well as compliance reporting and construction monitoring. Get in contact to find out how Northside Structural can assist with your project.
